RetroAchievements
In the past, I've struggled with RetroAchievements, and how it relates to how I play games. So let me take stock in what I do with games, and how I do it.
For games I play for RetroAchievements, I've already 100'd them some time in the distant past. -> I got no credit for that. -> I want credit. -> But I didn't need credit back then.
Is there a balance? -> Turn off in-game achievement notifications.
I have little interest in achievements for non-nostalgic games. -> Why not? -> Because I have no nostalgia for games I never played as a kid. -> Why not?
I feel weird about stupid easy-master games on my profile.1 -> I only want my favorite games associated with my account.
It creates a need to 100% a game. -> But By who's standards? -> These are user-made achievements -> So, who cares? -> And again, I've already 100'd them some time in the distant past.
This takes away focus from the game itself -> What's left for me, though? -> What exactly am I trying to capture?
I can't do what I want to do, here -> I want to, why? -> No time -> I'm no longer good enough -> they make me stressed.
Ultimately, is there room for using RetroAchievements, without having neuroses about it? Yeah, I think so.
